MVESTRO

(pronounced 'mahy-stroh)

Jerel Ellegood (b. 1987) studied Music Education as well as Composition under the tutelage of Dr. James Lee & Tadd Russo at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Also a clarinetist for over twenty years, he has studied with Drs. Elizabeth Gunlogson and Allison Yacoub and has performed with the Morgan State University Band as well as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (Bernstein's Mass & John Corigliano's Circus Maximus).

An avid fan of music for video games and film, Jerel has been composing in those genres and the traditional, symphonic style for over ten years and continues to actively explore new sounds.

In 2011, he founded the Baltimore Modern Orchestra Project (currently on hiatus), a modern arts collective and later served as Orchestra Manager, Graphic Designer, & Webmaster for the Symphony Orchestra of Northern Virginia for the 2013/14 season. He most recently scored the short film "Gideon's Cross", a film by Damone Williams, which premiered at Outfest LA in July of 2014.

Love, Always.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom.

If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn.

They teach you there's a boundary line to music.

But, man, there's no boundary line to art.

-Charlie Parker
